Zoning and Sustainable Development Code (SLDC)

Outside city limits, zoning is governed by Santa Fe County’s Sustainable Land Development Code (SLDC). Commercial zones include:

  • C-1 and C-2 (Commercial) – Similar to city designations but adapted to county-scale development.

  • I (Industrial) – Supports manufacturing, processing, and heavy commercial uses.

  • Mixed-Use Zoning – Permits small-scale commercial activity within residential areas in line with the County’s growth management strategy.
